The Bears announced the dismissal one day after a loss at NFC North champion Minnesota.

Chicago has had four consecutive losing seasons – each with 10 or more losses. The Bears haven’t finished above .500 since they let Lovie Smith go following a 10-6 finish in 2012. They haven’t been to the playoffs since 2010.
Fox was 14-34 in his three years with Chicago, a .292 winning percentage that ranks as the second lowest for the Bears. Only Abe Gibron was worse – 11-30-1 (.274) from 1972-74.
DETROIT (AP) – The Detroit Lions fired coach Jim Caldwell after a season in which the team began well but faded and missed the playoffs.
Caldwell received a multiyear contract extension before the season. His team finished with a 35-11 victory over to Green Bay to go 9-7, its third winning record in four years. Detroit met relatively modest expectations this season, but raised hopes by starting with a 3-1 record.
Caldwell was 36-28 in four seasons and went 0-2 in two postseasons with the Lions. Including three years with the Indianapolis Colts, he is 62-50 and 2-4 in the playoffs.
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) – The Denver Broncos are retaining rookie coach Vance Joseph, who went 5-11 in his first season.
General manager John Elway tweeted: ”Vance and I had a great talk this morning about our plan to attack this offseason and get better as a team. We believe in Vance as our head coach. Together Youth JK Scott Jersey , we’ll put in the work to improve in all areas and win in 2018.”
There was speculation that Elway would be on the lookout for his fourth head coach in five years with Joseph losing 10 of his last 12 games, including eight straight at one point. Eight of the team’s losses were by double digits.
Of the six head coaching vacancies last season, Joseph was widely believed to have inherited the best situation, taking over a team coming off a 9-7 season and just one year removed from a Super Bowl victory.
But Joseph had the worst record of the six new head coaches as the Broncos, who own the No. 5 pick in the draft and are still searching for their franchise quarterback two years after Peyton Manning’s retirement.
DAVIE, Fla. (AP) – Miami Dolphins running back Kenyan Drake says it was stupid for him to throw a helmet and get tossed from his team’s season finale, and he’s bracing for a possible fine or other punishment from the NFL.
Drake and teammate Jarvis Landry were ejected following a brawl in the final minutes of Miami’s 22-16 loss to Buffalo. Drake became involved in a wrestling match in the bottom of a pile, and when Bills defensive end Ryan Davis’ helmet came off Mark Walton Jersey Bengals , Drake picked it up and threw it 20 yards.
In retrospect, he said, not smart. Landry had just scored a touchdown to put the Bills’ lead to 22-9 with 6:21 left. Drake said he let the situation get the best of him, and the flying helmet could have hurt someone.

HOUSTON (AP) – Rockets star James Harden will miss at least two weeks with a left hamstring strain.
The team announced that the NBA’s leading scorer has a grade 2 strain and will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
Harden was injured on a missed layup late in the fourth quarter of Houston’s 148-142 double-overtime win against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night. He said after the game that he didn’t think the injury was serious, but the guard was walking with a pronounced limp.
The Rockets have the second-best record in the Western Conference behind Golden State at 26-9, and Harden leads the NBA with his scoring average of 32.3 points per game. He also is averaging 9.1 assists, ranking third in the league.
Harden, who has played every game this season Youth Jordan Akins Jersey , has been extremely durable during his career, missing just two games since the start of the 2014-15 season.
TORONTO (AP) – DeMar DeRozan scored a franchise-record 52 points, and the Toronto Raptors beat the Milwaukee Bucks 131-127 in overtime, matching the team record with their 12th consecutive home victory.
DeRozan is the third player in Raptors history to score 50 or more in a single game. The others are Vince Carter and Terrence Ross, who each had 51.
Kyle Lowry had 26 points and Serge Ibaka added 11 for the Raptors, who also won 12 straight at Air Canada Centre between Jan. 18 and March 6, 2016. Toronto is an NBA-best 14-1 at home.
DeRozan made 17 of 29 field-goal attempts and shot 13 for 13 at the free-throw line. His five 3-pointers were one shy of his career high.

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) – Texas Tech has fired women’s basketball coach Candi Whitaker.
The Lady Raiders are 6-7 on the season. They started out Big 12 play with a 41-point loss to Oklahoma and a 97-49 defeat to No. 6 Baylor on Sunday.
Whitaker Tarvarius Moore Jersey 49ers , who graduated from the school in 2002, was hired by Texas Tech in 2013. She had a 54-82 record as head coach, with her best season coming in 2014-15 when the Lady Raiders were 15-16.
As a player, Whitaker helped the Lady Raiders make the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament in back-to-back seasons.
Texas Tech’s next game is Wednesday against Kansas.
Assistant coach Shimmy Gray-Miller will take over as the interim coach and lead the program for the remainder of the season.
